Whataburger complaint: Drive Thru

My complaint:

This morning (12172022) at a bout 6:00 a.m. I went to the Whataburger location nearby to my home. When I got there to the drive thru line, there was one car in front of me which took quite a while at the order here speaker. Then, the car moved forward, and it was my turn.

I waited for almost 7 (seven) minutes before Michelle greeted me with an I’ll be right with you statement. There were no cars behind me, so I continued waiting, I had no problem. I thought it was odd at first because I have been plenty of times at this same location and I had never encountered something like this.

Then another 8 (eight) minutes passed, and I was still waiting for someone to take my order, but nothing. By then there were more than a couple of cars behind me! I thought Michelle had forgotten about me, so after having to wait for 15 minutes I said hello? and she came back on to the speaker breathing heavily and grunting and said, Just give me a second, can you hold on?!

So, I just replied No, I cannot continue waiting, I have to go to work, and I left. I left disappointed and hungry.

As a customer I truly value good customer service and efficiency. Unfortunately, I did not see either at this location. I used to love coming to this place. I used to work for a food chain in the past in the drive thru so I know it’s not an easy job and at times it can be chaotic. However, we always let our customers know what was going on and did everything to make sure we did not ruin their visit.

I don’t think I will go back to this location, I’m sad to see this place declining.

Suggested solution:

They should hire more people, offer a class for customer service, communicate with customers if there is any problem so we understand the problem.
