Walmart complaint: Double Billed – Not taking responsibility for error

My complaint:

I order groceries every week from Walmart and have it delivered. I ordered groceries totaling $95.42 on 128. The charge was put on my account as pending, and they took a $116.00 pending transaction as well on top of that (I was told to verify i had funds). Fine. The pending $116.00 fell off on Monday, however this morning, 121422, there is ANOTHER posted charge on top of my original amount of $97.24. I immediately called Walmart customer service, which the rep i spoke to could not speak english well and despite trying to explain the situation, she repeatedly told me yes thats a pending charge, it will fall off. i tried telling her it was finalized, not pending on top of my original amount. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and told one was not available.

I called Walmart back a few hours later, got a reference055043 to give to my bank to dispute the transaction. Walmart would not take the charge off, and again i spoke to an offshore rep who did not understand nor speak english very well. I asked to cancel my Walmart membership. I called Capital One and filed a dispute and gave the reference.

In times like today, $200.00 taken out for an under $100.00 grocery order is insanity. Walmart makes billions of dollars, and the fact they would not taken accountability for a double bill is insane to me, not to mention on 12322, a news outlet posted an article about Walmart double billing thousands of people. All would have been fine if they just listened, but now they lost a long time customer, a membership and bet your butt i’ll be following up legally if this is not rectified.

Suggested solution:

Full refund for the amount the double billed.
