My complaint:

I have been scammed, and Vinted’s refusal to help me has led to be losing out on £85.

I purchased an Arc’tyrex Jacket for £65, with Vinted’s buyer protection fee and delivery added in, costing £75. The seller is echeverriluke and he is a scammer.

Upon arrival, it was evident that this item was a counterfeit. I reported this, and was encouraged to return the item. I could not get access to the return information because my account was blocked, and Vinted repeatedly refused to help me with this. Vinted only referred me to the appeals process, which is useless and would not rectify the situation.

Because there is a 1 week deadline for returning the item, I knew I had to fix this myself. This meant I had to ask for the postage details from the seller myself. The seller agreed, and I sent the item, paying £10 to do so myself, with proof of delivery shown in the conversation I have screenshots of above. In Photo 4 you can see that proof of delivery, arriving at the seller’s house.

However, because the seller refused to that it had arrived, the money has been released to the seller, so he now has his £65 fee and his counterfeit jacket in hand.

My complaint is this – because Vinted refused to give me access to the proper delivery information, I had to send it myself.
This is terrible because obviously the seller knew exactly what he was doing, and has abused me in this, taking advantage of the process.
What I need help with is getting my money back!! Between the original fee and the return postage, I have spent £85 and have nothing to show for it. I need help to get this money back, and give me compensation. I can’t quite express how frustrating and grieving this has been – Vinted’s poor customer service has made me feel absolutely awful.

What is doubly terrible about this is that upon reading Vinted’s terms and conditions, when an item has been proven to be counterfeit, Vinted’s terms state that If we review all the evidence and there are strong indications of the item being counterfeit, we won’t ask you to return it to the seller and we’ll refund you.

The item was evidently counterfeit as I provided proof of, yet I was forced to send the item back to the seller within a week, and have lost money despite Vinted’s own terms stating that I was not legally obliged to return the item.

I will keep contacting Vinted in every way I can until I get fair treatment for how badly they have treated me.

Yours,
Stephen.

Suggested solution:

I need compensation for the money I have lost out on. I am £85 out of pocket for this, and need to be refunded for this.
