My complaint:

Dear US Bank ReliaCard Customer Service,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding a recent issue with the bill pay service provided by your esteemed institution.

On August 1 I initiated a bill pay transaction of $1087.67, intended for my landlord. I followed all the necessary steps and provided the correct information, and the transaction was marked as completed. However, the funds never reached my landlord and instead remained in limbo.

When I contacted ReliaCard customer service, I was informed that I had to wait four business days for the bill pay to process. After this period, I was told to wait an additional day excluding the weekend, and then another six days for a file posted to process. Finally, the payment kicked back, but this series of delays resulted in my rent payment being 12 days overdue, incurring a late fee of $20 per day on top of the initial $130 already charged.

This situation is not only financially burdensome for an already unemployed individual, but also emotionally distressing. The bill pay service is supposed to provide convenience and peace of mind, ensuring that our bills are paid ly and accurately. However, in this instance, it has caused significant inconvenience and financial loss.

I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter. I believe that the bank should take responsibility for this error and rectify the situation. I propose that the bank covers the late fees incurred ($130 plus ($20 (12)) due to this delay, as it was no fault of my own but a failure of the service provided.
