My complaint:
I have driven for uber ride-share for nearly 4 years of safe reliable driving with over 3000 trips with no accidents or incidents!
On June 7th I gave a ride to lady who had placed two stops on the trip! The first stop was Price Chopper grocery store! As soon as she got into my car she was extremely loud and argumentative! Upon arrv at the 1 stop,the grocery store, I explained to the rider I would only wait for a few minutes and would need to cancel out her ride if she was going to do a lot of grocery shopping and I will not hang around for long! This is happening regularly and uber needs to stop this habit! Immediately, as it is causing a lot of problems with some riders who abuse this and keep drivers waiting for a 0 mins and more!
The lady realised I was not going to wait for a long time for her to do her weekly grocery shopping! She went berserk and demanded I return her back to her home! Upon my arrival to her house and she got out two men were fast approaching threatening pretty heavy violence! I had to drive off at a very high speed to protect myself from being really hurt!
The lady called uber and complained and lied about what had happened and without any notice or explanation uber deactivated my account without speaking to me or allowing me to defend myself in this matter! I have always kept a great rating for the nearly 4 years but apparently uber cares less about me my record or apparently any of their drivers! I believe this is happening quite regularly without any thought for drivers that work for this company! They should be ashamed of their policies! Without any regards to drivers!
Suggested solution:
This needs to be posted so uber could possibly in the future have more respect for the ones who make their business possible!
Some riders who try to take advantage of drivers, realising that at any time they just need to make a call to uber to try to get them deactivated
Just because they are spiteful and having a bad day! Uber needs to take a hard look at this stop policies! And try to be a respectful business and think more about their drivers and their futures instead of taking the easy way and disregarding and showing no compassion for deactivating anyone they feel like without any defence given to their money makers!
