Is Twitch legit?
Legit, mixed reviewsTwitch is the real thing, the live-streaming site best known for gaming, but everything you build there sits on an account it can switch off. After a suspension, getting your channel back hangs entirely on an appeal, and Twitch gives no timetable for answering it.
What we checked
- Launched in June 2011
- Owned by Amazon since 2014
- Head office in San Francisco
- Ratings on other review websites: 1.5/5
Watch out for
- A suspension notice with little detail, leaving you to appeal without knowing exactly what was flagged.
- An email warning of a suspension or copyright strike that links to a page asking for your login.
- A 'free Bits' or giveaway link in chat that wants your Twitch login or a download.

How do I reach Twitch customer service?
Twitch has no customer service phone number and no public support email: everything runs through the help center at help.twitch.tv, where you sign in with the affected account and submit a support ticket. Any phone number or email address that a search result offers as Twitch support is not Twitch, and those numbers are a known route for account theft, so never share your login details or a two-factor code with anyone who calls or messages you.
Before submitting a ticket, gather the account name, the exact date and time of the problem with your time zone, screenshots, and the payment reference if money is involved. Twitch is owned by Amazon, but Amazon customer service does not resolve Twitch account or channel issues and will send you back to Twitch support. Channel suspended and the appeal turned down? Start your complaint here and we push it out by email, social media and printed letters.
How do I appeal a Twitch ban?
Appeal a Twitch suspension through the suspension appeal route in the Twitch help center, signed in with the account that was banned and using the email address on that account. Replying to the notification email does not start an appeal, and creating a second account while suspended is itself a violation that can turn a temporary suspension into a permanent one. You normally get one appeal, so treat the first submission as your only one.
Keep it short and specific: the account name, the date of the suspension, the exact reason Twitch gave, and why that reason does not match what happened, with timestamps or a clip if you have them. Arguing with the rules in general goes nowhere, while showing that the specific evidence is wrong is what moves an appeal. A ban from one channel is different: that is the streamer's own moderation decision and Twitch does not reverse it. Appeal rejected with no reason at all? Set out the timeline in your complaint here and we help you write it in minutes, with the account name, the suspension date and the exact wording you were given, drawing on thousands of complaint letters that actually worked.
How do I cancel a Twitch subscription?
Where you cancel a Twitch subscription depends on where you bought it: subscriptions bought on the Twitch website are cancelled under the subscriptions section of your Twitch account settings, subscriptions bought inside the iOS app are cancelled in your Apple subscription settings, and Android purchases are cancelled in the Google Play subscriptions screen. Cancelling in the wrong place leaves the billing running, and that is the most common reason people keep being charged after they thought they had stopped.
Cancelling ends the renewal rather than refunding the month you are in, so check the confirmation for the date your access ends and watch one more statement to be sure nothing renews. Take a screenshot of the cancellation confirmation: it is the evidence you need if a charge appears anyway.
How do I get a refund from Twitch?
Refunds for Bits, subscriptions and Turbo are requested through the Twitch help center using the transaction reference from your purchase receipt email, but anything bought inside the iOS or Android app has to be refunded by Apple or Google instead. Start with the receipt: whichever company is named on it is the one that can return the money.
Accidental purchases, duplicate charges and charges after a cancellation are worth raising quickly, with the date, amount and receipt number. If the charge was never yours at all, treat it as account compromise first: change the password, turn on two-factor authentication, check which devices are signed in, then raise it with both Twitch and your card issuer. A complaint filed through our complaint process backs that up: we open a case and keep coaching you on what to reply, when to push and how to escalate.
Is that Twitch suspension email real?
Be careful. Emails and messages warning that your Twitch account will be suspended or hit with a copyright strike unless you click a link are a common way to steal logins. Never enter your password on a page you reached from such a message.
What do people complain about most at Twitch?
So far consumers reported 9 complaints about Twitch here, averaging 2.3 out of 5, too few to show a clear pattern yet. Our research shows what typically goes wrong at large streaming and social platforms: accounts suspended by automated systems with a vague reason and a single appeal, rules enforced inconsistently between big and small accounts, reports of abusive behavior that lead to nothing, ads that keep appearing for subscribers who expected fewer, billing and payout problems, and support that answers with templates.

What happens after I submit my complaint?
Your complaint gets its own public page on Complain.biz and we get to work: we bring it to the attention of Twitch through emails, social media, paper complaint letters and other tools at our disposal.
And we stay with it after you file. Our trained AI opens a case file for you and keeps coaching: what to reply, when to push again, and how to escalate if nothing happens.
Can other consumers help me with my Twitch complaint?
Yes. We have an active community of consumers, and complaints here are public: people who ran into the same problem with Twitch can give you advice or back you up with their own story. A complaint with a community behind it is much harder to overlook.
