My complaint:
I was recently discharged from the Clarksville, TN Salvation Army for hugging a sweet little girl and telling her to have a good day at school and learn all she could. According to the Salvation Army’s website, my actions did not violate policy. But I was told I had to leave anyway. This decision was made while I was at work, by an employee of the Salvation Army, Ms. Jackie. I was giving no opportunity to tell my side of the story or defend myself. I am white. Ms. Jackie is black. She has a friend who is a resident there who is also black. Her friend does not like me. Ms. Jackie’s friend just also happened to be the one who told that I hugged the little girl.
I have filed a complaint with the Salvation Army’s National Headquarters.
Suggested solution:
Allow me to return to the Salvation Army, with an apology.

There was one that “cooked” there that called a couple of us “racist white bitches” because we laughed about something that had nothing to do with her but she took it personal due to her own history that I knew nothing about.… Read more »
