My complaint:
I am always appreciative but this is first year signed up for angel tree in many years and it was a disappointment. I went to pick up my daughter and nephews gifts today at 2pm at the Salvation Army Waynesburg Pa location. The gifts were for the angel tree distribution. Gave my daughter and nephews names and was handed two gift bags. Realized both bags had only my daughters name so asked them and showed them. The lady then proceeded to take one of my daughters gift bags back, it was in a paper brown bag. She kept that gift bag so I only got one gift bag with two small toys for my daughter. Why!? Bc I was given no explanation. And nothing was there for my nephew. My daughter is 5 years old, her name is Brooklynn Dieffenbauch. It is wrong to take some of her gifts when they were specifically bought for her with her full name on them! The lady also stated and was opening bags and switching gifts around and etc while we were standing there. The gifts aren’t supposed to be open. Was truly a shame and was shocked at what was seeing!
Suggested solution:
In the future have angel tree participants contact the families themselves by phone number that singed up for the drop off and or pick up of gifts. I’m sure if these buyers were informed they would be upset they chose to buy for a child and the child didn’t get those gifts! Or replacement of gifts because that it truly wrong. Many families count on this help.
