My complaint:

In May 2022 my local Salvation Army Representative agreed to help with rental assistance, from a new grant they just received. Was to be $600 in total. The lady that runs that office has been there many years, however she is quite senior in age so I think this may be a factor.
There was a form from my landlord she requested that I didn’t have, and I told her I have severe issues getting ahold of management at the apartments to get that form. They called them several times to assist me with it, they couldn’t get the form either. I even went to adjacent counties for Section 8 properties to ask how I could get help with the matter, they couldn’t help either.
Every time I called the Salvation Army office I had to re-explain who I was and had they received that form so that I could get the assistance released for my rent. She stated that she was the only one in the office that would receive an email and she did not receive anything from them and said I had to get that before they were allowed to pay out to the landlord. After several months, I did manage to receive a call from the landlord and she stated they she had sent that form several times to the email listed for it. In August I knew I was losing the lease on the apartment so I needed the rental assistance promised sent or I would lose my voucher permanently because I certainly couldn’t pay it back.
The lady at the Salvation Army office told me she didn’t know what I was talking about and couldn’t find my information. I told her that I’d sent many emails to her trying to following up on this, to which she replied she received none. I also told her that I’d called and left many messages for her to call me back, with both the older gentleman that worked there and on the voice mail. She stated that they moved offices and were unreachable for about 3 weeks but she received no messages.
I am disabled, many illnesses, but the Primary illness is Lyme disease and causes short term memory issues. I always record my calls, take a picture of any correspondence and keep notes about what I do. I did tell her this, she was unimpressed. I recently called the office to try one more time, she told me that the funding on that program was long gone and there wasn’t any currently to assist, especially since I’m already out of the apartment.
I have been settling the estate for my dad, so I had the house that wasn’t sold yet to move to but it would be short term. I tried to sell the property but they refused all offers, any offer actually, and foreclosed on the home. I am now being evicted from the house and because I owe back rent on the apartment I cannot qualify for my voucher again until that is paid. How can I do that?
I sent a letter to the corporate address listed for Salvation Army last year, it was never answered. I thought I would at the very least file a complaint regarding my experience with the local office. I’m quite sure there’s nothing that can help right now but I’ll take any referrals or suggestions that come my way.
I would also be willing to send the phone log of calls date and times, the emails sent date and time and same with apts.

Thank you. Denise.
