My complaint:

Ref. Order WG30728744, Crownhill 10 ft. x 12 ft. Hardtop Gazebo
Item 2502482; Model 703728; $1,470.56 total price (incl. tax shipping)

I am completely dissatisfied and extremely upset with the delivery of the above-referenced item which I had ordered on 22821. It was scheduled to be delivered to my residence on Wednesday 31721. I also had requested delivery tracking on it to be notified with email and text s.

On Saturday morning, without any notification of any sort (not even a doorbell ring), I noticed that the product had been placed in front of my front porch. There was wet snow coming down, and the two large heavy (several hundreds of pounds) boxes were falling apart due to the snow soaking them, to the point that even some of its contained parts were falling out of the cartons.

My wife and I are seniors in our 70s. I have bad knees as it is, and had to try to push and pull the boxes into my garage by myself. In doing so, one of its straps snapped and I fell backward onto my back and got hurt. While I somehow managed to inch one of the boxes into a space that we had made in the garage for it, I was unable to even budge the other one. In total despair, I called my son-in-law for help, who had to drive some distance to be able to do so. I spent this weekend lying on my back and taking pain pills.

This is totally unacceptable. As mentioned above, we had made ample space in the front part of the garage for the delivery people to place these two boxes. All they had to do was ring the doorbell, and we would have opened the garage door for them to kindly do so, as other business delivery personnel have done without a problem.

By the way, as a side note, the Home Depot website tracking page had indicated on 31321 that the product was delivered on 31221, and today (31321) it reflects that it was delivered on 31721 (3 days into the future, when it was initially scheduled for).

Suggested solution:

I will leave it up to Home Depot Corporate to decide what if anything they might do to ease the frustration and hardship this experience has caused.
