My complaint:

I purchased an odeon gift card for my nephew for Christmas. I presumed it would be like any other gift card and that he could use it upon presentation. He was very embarrassed because I’m trying to use it they said the Tesco had to validate it. He’s only 14 and had to come home alone as all of his friends stayed to watch the film. I no longer have the receipt as my husband burns all our receipts but you will see from our Clubcard that we are regular customers and spend a lot of money in Tesco’s I have asked at the desk and basically they have said that if I haven’t got the receipt there is nothing they can do. Why should I need to validate it and why couldn’t this have been done when I purchased it.

Suggested solution:

I wish to be refunded my £20 as I have now given my nephew £20 in cash. I was very embarrassed indeed
