My complaint:

On the 1st July at 23:20. I attempted to pay for my food bought within the Tesco metro store in Hammersmith Broadway. While trying to do so, a guy called Nathan explained to me the tills close at 23:30. I checked the clock displayed within the store it showed 23:22. So, I kindly replied it’s not 23:30 yet mate. He said the store time was wrong. Therefore, I checked my phone and it was the same time within the store.

Another customer stated its not 23:30 yet as she checked her phone also. Nathan gave nothing but terrible attitude and the most ridiculous customer service I had ever seen. Another customer (all on camera) came up to me and said he was quite aggressive. In which I fully agreed with this customer and made me even more upset with the way I was being delt with.
I asked Nathan for the manager he aggressively and rudely replied I am the manager. I tried to explain to him that he was wrong he was acting as if he could not hear. So, I went to the security guard he gladly came over really nice guy. He tried to say to Nathan I was a regular customer. Nathan did not care and constantly kept saying the tills are closed.

Now I understand protocol if the tills close at 23:30 that’s fine, but it was not 23:30 yet. What’s even worse is I used to work in this store myself in my younger days. So, I know customer service and protocol. I been going to this Tesco for 16 years now and since you have changed most staff, I believe it has not been for the greater good. I will explain why below.

On another occasion few months back, I had payed for a salmon in which the security guard saw me pay for. Another young man in fact two were very aggressive and rude. They ran me down after leaving store screaming thief, thief, thief imagine. I have a full career as a PE teacher so this was not only embarrassing but disheartening. Due so such screaming I was going to ignore but was that much of a seen I turned back, In which the security guard was present and I explained to him did I not pay for the item he replied yes. As it was bought on the self-service till right next to the security stand. The manager constantly said I had stolen the item and was so determined I did. He was so sure he even tried to ban me from the store.

I was so furious one of the two guys was a manger and makes me think. How are such people being hired and represent such a company? Literally, you guys are hiring nasty people to carry out a job whilst delivering nasty customer service. Imagine, yourself who has a career and called a thief along with two aggressive guys RUNNING YOU DOWN! Now if we as customers behaved in such a way or made such mistakes, we would be banned from the store. I had spoken to the store manager about this on one occasion and she was very nice and understanding. Hence, I went back to the store. But again, there is always some worker in there with a chip on their shoulder. It seems your managers are not either fully trained properly or racially profiling people who they THINK is a thief.

Now I have nothing to lie about and even more upset I have had to spend time typing this up. You have some crafty people working in that store which would lie in order to save themselves and their job. Before leaving I was told there are cameras as if I was aggressive. Horrible people. If you ask the security guard present, he will tell you I come regularly as I love to cook fresh food every day. It just surprises me who hires such people and worse promotes them to manager position. When simple customer service is never provided in that store. Aggressive staff and if you get upset, they will tell you that you the customer are aggressive very crafty individuals.

I have been humble, patient and understanding but every time I walk in that store there is some gangster want to be. Instead of an employee and I’m getting sick of it. My partner and friends all agree they are racially profiling people and what’s worse they are doing it to people who earn more than them. There is no common sense within that store I am sorry.

I believe a lot of your staff members in there are racially profiling people because on many occasions none of this was needed. Unless, they hate their job or customers. If this carries on because this is not the first incident. I am willing to take this further and expose what goes on within that store. Please check cameras two customers tried to help the situation yesterday including the security guard and even then, I got arrogance and terrible attitude in return.
