My complaint:
At this location there are 6 recycling machines
2 for Plastic
2 for Glass
2 for Cans
Let me preface this comment with, I bring my recycled items from my home once a month. But on any given day I come to recycle, it’s an adventure! The recycle machine bins are either filled or not in service. Then when you enter the store to ask for them to be emptied your met with disrespect, distain and other unnecessary difficulties.
Ranging from the Manager (of Store 2591 Ms. Miracle) saying; “The bin is out of service, and you will have to wait until the person finishes gathering shopping carts to empty the bin.” I did inquire how long was the plastic and can recycle machines were out of service and when will this problem be corrected? The manager replied; “I don’t know!” I then asked what was her name and store number. The number she claimed she didn’t know but the name seemed suspect as well but it’s noted at the top of this. Her tone of discourtesy and body language of dismissal was read loud and clear which ed this complaint.
Now when the person to empty the bin finally arrives, he’s grumbling, cursing and other disturbing obscenities from his tirade pours out!
Then I have to explain to the people waiting on line, “I’m next I went to get help so the bin could be emptied.” The adventure continues, verbal banter from those on line not trying to hear that ensues.
Suggested solution:
My suggestion when bins are out of service, allow for the recycling of items need to be hand counted in front of store with a representative present to accept them. I know some come with extra large bags from collecting, however limited the count accepted per person. At least accept 60 recyclables. But the person should not have to carry back home all such recyclables.
