My complaint:

A Shoppers Drug Mart employee named SEY approached customers on-site with disrespect and an unacceptable demeanor.
2022-06-13 approximately 9:00 PM Located in Broadmoor Village 7820 Williams Rd Unit 100, Richmond, BC V7A 1G3
There was an employee Named SEY, who said she is the supervisor of the store and told me not to smell the shampoo varieties and scolded me with a defamatory tone, I can hear you opening the shampoo bottles from a distance… If you don’t buy it, then don’t touch it.
I said I am the consumer here, I have the right to test out different scents of the shampoo in order for me to pick the ones to buy.
She then insisted that I don’t have to right to test different scents of shampoo. (Note: I was wearing a mask while I was testing the unsealed shampoo bottles.)
I was enraged, and ask the employee to stop harassing me and get out of my sight.
She insisted that it is Shoppers Drug Mart company policy that customers cannot open shampoo bottles if they are not affirmatively making the purchase. shouted that she was going to call the police on me and demanded I leave the store.

I asked the employee, where is the policy displayed?
she then quoted I AM the policy.
I retaliated where’s your manager I want to see your manager!
she shouted back I am the supervisor here and I’m in charge of what’s going on in the store tonight, if you don’t like our policy, you can get out.

Suggested solution:

Making the Shoppers Drug Mart policy readily available for consumers to see as a black and white sign, either inside of the store or at the entrance of the store.

However, suppose the employee SEY was overreacting on that night and causing a scene by creating a bitter consumer experience in Shoppers Drug Mart. In that case, I insist the employee get better training from the corporate and apologize along with a free shampoo as part of the apology for the unprofessional behavior that employee SEY conducted on June 13, 2022.
Additionally, a $200 compensation emotionally exerted distress on me and the many hours spent writing and reporting. I am having severe migraine due to what SEY has done earlier this evening, it is already 3:27 a.m. and I'm still dealing with all aspects related to this report
