My complaint:
Every single day I have tried to make it in time to pick up my very important medication, the location closest to my house closes 10 minutes early. This enables me to oftentimes get the medicine I need daily since I am unable to make it 15 minutes prior to 10:00 p.m. or anytime sooner. I have never shown up late or a minute after 10 o’clock, I’ve never been later than 9:50pm to be exact and yet I show up and always end up locked out and rejected by staff leaving the store a few minutes early. I understand that everyone hates a long shift of work, but I’ve always been taught in retail that you don’t close the store until the exact time advertised has arrived-therefore, 10pm is the soonest the store should be locking their doors to customers. Often times I see the parking lot nearly full of vehicles and yet they continue to reject verbally and physically anyone trying to enter the store. Even people such as myself with medication ready for pickup daily just sitting there waiting for me.
Many locations in my city do this, as I’ve experienced this same issue unfortunately multiple times in the past at certain locations also, not to mention no locations are 24hrs anymore (which makes it even more treacherous for consumers like myself who often get off work late or don’t drive and cannot get there any sooner than 10-15mins prior to closing times). However, this location is by far the absolute worst for this!!!
Suggested solution:
Speak directly to the whole stores employees and management as it's often the managers, cashier's and beauty rep who are leaving early. I've had some of the pharmacists actually tell them verbally as I'm phoning the pharmacy to explain I'm seconds away, not to lock me out of the doors early. Then when confronted as staff is walking to their vehicles at 10pm exactly why they consistently close doors prior to the time they advertise, they try using the lame excuse that it's because of the pharmacy they have to. What the heck does that mean and why is it then that it's the beauty counter cashier leaving first always and cashier's secondary? I've stayed to watch and see if this excuse is true and viable. Denying my healthcare rights and availability by shutting doors early is not only unethical but deadly to many consumers! I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with a store I once loyally shopped at for nearly everything. I plan on heading to a different pharmacy or location for sure after this final experience for my 4th time in 2 weeks now.
