My complaint:

I travelled from flight QF82 on 30 Nov 2022 from Singapore to Wellington, New Zealand. I have Indian passport and NZ visitor visa.
I purchased a one way ticket to NZ and when I went to check-in counter at Singapore Changi airport after waiting in long queue, Qantas staff didn’t let me check-in stating that I need to have a return ticket booked to NZ in order to check-in. Initially I was told that It is a requirement by Qantas and later that it is a requirement by NZ immigration and If i don’t have return ticket, then even if they allow me to check-in, I will not be allowed to enter NZ.
I repeatedly told them that there is no such requirement and my visa clearly mentions that ‘ReturnOnward Ticket not required’ but still I was forced by Qantas check-in staff at airport to buy ticket for my return journey which I have not planned yet. Attached is a copy of my NZ visa and below is the URL for NZ immigration website that clearly mentions that passengers can enter NZ on one way ticket:

I ended up buying an expensive ticket for INR 59,174 from Wellington,NZ to Delhi,India for a random date and then getting into check-in queue all over again. I am a senior citizen and had wheel chair assistance booked which was not provided till then. It all caused me a lot of frustration and problem. The new ticket that I bought I bough it for singapore airlines via tarvel portal yatra.com which i have been using since long.
The cancellation charges for this tickets are as below:
Airline Cancellation Penalty (Including GST): 24740 4507 GST
RAF (Refund Administrative fee): INR 300
Yatra Service Fee: INR 2250
Promotional Discount: INR 849
Total: INR 32646
Can you inform me who is responsible for this behavior and inconvenience? I have limited funds and can’t afford to waste money like this. I need you to refund me the amount paid on this ticket(which i don’t need for this date) due to Qantas staff misguiding me by providing incorrect information.
