Opodo complaint: poor resolution

My complaint:

I booked a virgin atlantic flight from London to NYC with opodo and for 4 weeks I have been trying to cancel and change the flight. I have had at least 8 calls with someone each lasting about 20 mins and there has been no resolution. The flight is tomorrow and today I have been told that the ‘segment’ is cancelled and virgin are not expecting me to travel – I am still getting sent reminders to check in and upload docs and at this point have little faith in opodo and their promise that the booking is cancelled. Virgin repeatedly changed the times and covid restrictions mean I cannot travel. Each call I am told to leave it 5 days but only once did i get the promised call back but no resolution. There doesn’t appear to be a case file as I have to repeat everything each time I call – it is draining and exasperating. i have 3 other flights in the USA with different bookers and cancelledrebooked with one call. Virgin have been excellent and offered to allow flexible booking for 1 year but I need to go through opodo and you are not even able to update on an email to virgin sent 8 days ago. I am concerned I will lose my full flight cost at this point so this is to detail the chronology of attempts to cancel the flight. I just want a voucher and a request to virgin to extend this to next summer – if I had booked with them it would be no issue. If not then I will book before the 18 Jan as originally offered.

Suggested solution:

Escalate with virgin for a response. Why email 8 days ago and the day before the flight there is no update or no escalation. I get an immediate response from virgin
