My complaint:

I have been on Next Door for years, but suddenly Next Door, and after many years, decided that my account does not follow their community guidelines because my full real name is not spelled out completely. That was timely after I expressed my opinion about issues we have in Highlands Ranch and Colorado. My opinion didn’t insult nor offended anyone. It was a public opinion on public issues. When they asked that I show my real full name, I responded that my name is very unique and can be identified very easily, and me and my family can be easy located if an unstable person decided to cause harm or retaliate. I stressed on the safety issue about spelling our my real full name, but they insisted that I spell out my real name. Thier rules are very discriminatory and does not take into account the safety of some people for some special reasons. I escalated the case, but they wanted to show that they are consistent and failed to understand my situation. At the end, they have my real identity in case Next Door want to contact me. This situation is very applicable to others with unique names and make the easy to locate. They disabled my account until I use my full name. My first name and last name are unique. I am the only one in my city with this first name. If I use my real first name and last initial, I still can be identified.

Suggested solution:

They need to understand special, unique situations that can put a group of people at risk. Also, they should not be biased and side with certain views and opinions. If they are told that, they will keep repeating a meaningless statement that their guidelines and rules are fair to all, which is not true nor applicable. They should let me use an abbreviated first and last name for safety issues. Enforcing their guidelines in a selective way with hidden intention is very discriminatory. They should accommodate my situation and they have to understand the risks of enforcing unfair, biased rules.
