My complaint:
Hi, so on 7th Jul 23 I booked internal flights in Vietnam with mytrip via their Australian platform where I’m from, for a family holiday we were having in Vietnam Sep/Oct for my 40th.
On 2 Sep I found out that one of the flights with VietJet was cancelled they just stopped that particular route. I called VietJet, they said they can’t deal with me and need to deal with booking agent mytrip. So I contacted mytrip, who told me that another of my flights was also cancelled (which the second flight they told me was canceled was actually incorrect). So I went straight to another airline and booked two new flights following mytrip’s advice.
Then started trying to chase my refund back and forth for months, Vietjet is very clear they can’t refund me or deal with me as the booking is through the booking agent mytrip, yet mytrip sends me to Vietjet and in circles. I’m so hurt as I’m the customer and I’m out of pocket.
It’s been months since the flights were cancelled and I’ve done everything to get my money back.
I had to pay nearly $600 for new replacement flights, one due to the route being cancelled and the other on the advice by mytrip that the second internal flight was also cancelled from Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh.
I’m at my wits end!
Suggested solution:
When I receive a refund for my cancelled flight from Da Nang to Phu Quoc and for my flights from Phu Quoc to Ho Ch Minh, which mytrip also told me were cancelled and so I booked replacement flights for also.
I am $633.88AUD out of pocket.
