My complaint:

rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB Manomano

I have placed an order for a rattan set via manomano. Upon receipt everything was fine with the exception of a table base and one armchair.

The table base had one of the resting foot damaged. This affected the stability of the table making the table a hazard. Given that the table was quite heavy it was imperative that the table had all resting foots in perfect condition and so we have requested a replacement with the vendor(rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB)

The armchair had loose and unraveling wicker tougher with an unstable foot rest and weak weaving in the seat. Also there were staples marks on the edge of the back rest. Again, we have requested with the vendor( rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) for this to be replaced.

The vendor (rattanfurniturechina Fimous)has made our experience a nightmare(please ref. Email exchange for details).

First he didn’t give us any options either then sending parts for us to mend the damaged items. We have explained that this is not possible because we have received the items damaged, and that we would have agreed to this if that would’ve have happened during the one year warranty( warranty which he’s providing on the manomano website). Aside from this no other option were mentioned.

Once the vendor (rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) has agreed to send a replacement he didn’t provide any details of the replacement being sent. We have received the replacement without knowing when this will be at our door, fortunately we were at home to receive this.

For some time we haven’t heard anything from the vendor(rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB), nothing at all. On week starting the 16th of May we have received an email from the vendor(rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) asking for the damaged items to be collected(please ref. Email exchange). We have asked the vendor to provided us with information(datecurrieretc) for the items to be collected. His reply did not contain any information about the collection(please ref email exchange)

On Sunday the 22nd of May I have received a phone call from someone who requested to drop by and collect the damaged items because he lives near where I live. This truly shocked me, I didn’t knew who this guy was nor I have received an email from the vendor(rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) informing us that someone will call us(mentioned his name and company), no informations were passed onto us in relation with this collection. We didn’t knew who this ‘Eric’ who called us was, nor we have ever heard about his logistic company, nor we have been provided with some form of evidence that he will come and collect the items.

Our details have been passed onto someone without us being informed. We have been called at 9:40am. by then no email and no information were passed onto us from the vendor(rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB)(please ref. Email exchange and text messages)

The vendor (rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) has used our details beaching our privacy. We do not know who the vendor (rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB ) is, he never signed his emails, we didn’t knew who the person who called us was, nor we heard about his company, no notice was given for the parcel to be collected, no tracking no, no proof of collection, nothing at all and still he was insisting that we let him know if We are at home for his items to be collected.

We by no means will allow for someone to turn up at our door without know who they are or having some sort of proof that they have been at our property.

This scenario would have been completely different if the vendor would have had informed us that someone (details) will turn up at our door or if he would have booked a company (yodel, dpd, etc).

The vendor (rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB) has used our details untrustworthy.

This was a purchase made through Manomano therefore there is no excuse on either side( manomano or rattanfurniturechina Fimous GB.

Manomano should make sure that a vendor complains with certain regulation as ultimately the buyer is the one who will suffers the consequences if something goes wrong. Not to mention that I have been asked by a customer rep. To my availability for collection with the vendor without her fully understanding the situation.

It is unacceptable for a seller to put his burden on the buyer. It is unacceptable for privacy to be breached.
