My complaint:

My mother had purchased a Master card gift card from your store and it wasn’t activated at point of sale. She subsequently lost the receipt and here in lies the problem.

We spoke with the Store manager Garth Chapman, he informed us there was nothing he could do and was unwillingly to help us resolve the issue in any manner – he just kept responding with “nothing I can do”. We were shocked and quite upset that this man refused to do anything to try and help us, nothing. In fact he even got annoyed as we tried to convince him there must be something…

The next day we went back to try and speak with someone else, her name was sherry. She was able to not only locate the missing receipt but to resolve the issue for us. In a time when we are financially struggling this was important to us – it’s $50!

While it may not of been important enough to Garth Chapman to lift a finger or even bother to help try to resolve this – it was to us. We live and work in this community and buy all our groceries at our neighbourhood Dominion store. Our experience with Garth really turned us off from continuing to shop at your store. If it wasn’t for a wonderful lady named Sherry we would never of had this resolved, her willingness to help is the bright spot here. Unfortunately things happen and given the experience with Garth we are not willing to take that chance again with your store. We are writing this so that maybe next time a customer has a problem at this store, Garth will be willing to at least try to help that person. Cheers to Sherry!
