My complaint:

I bought a Liberty Mutual policy through Geico. My home is a 1558 sq foot structure. I have made NO claims since joining Geiko in 2012. Here is a list of my insurance premiums beginning in 2011: $903; $976; $1553; $2077; $2398; 2708; $3037; $3524; $4068; $4419; and $4731 in 2021. Why? No claims. No high risk weather. No violent dogs. Great credit rating. Why didn’t I ask sooner? No communication. My insurance is paid through escrow and I never see the documents, I found out yesterday that they did not have an active email address. Surrounding houses pay approximately $1000 annually. My policy has been increased from $300 to $600 annually. Why? I am due a significant refund. I have been overcharged by more than $18,000 since 2012. This figure is based on reasonable rate increases of 5% annually compared to Geico premiums charged. My new insurers passed the paperwork around their office and agreed they had never seen anything on this level. Even referred to it as criminal. I totally agree. I called Geico. They said rates were set by Liberty Mutual (there are no detailed charges on policy- only a total). I called Liberty Mutual. They referred me back to Geico. My belief is that my property was classified as something it is not such as a business. I am unable to get either company to accept responsibility for this error and refund the excess of these exorbitant premiums.

Suggested solution:

Geico is a broker. I assume this means Liberty Mutual is responsible although I paid premiums to Geico. I want to be refunded the mistaken premiums amounting to $18,400.
