My complaint:

While driving downhill from Snowville, Id.,all of a sudden the car made a loud band and smoke began to flow from the hood. We stopped the cr and let it cool down, then drove slowly another 100 miles back to our home in Lehi, Ut.

The following Tuesday after Memorial Day, we drove the car to the Lexus Dealership to determine the damage. A diagnostic test was done and later thaT afternoon I was informed that the car needed a new transmission for $8900. I drove the car to Japanese Auto in Provo, Ut and was told they could repair the car for $2700. I was told they had very sophisticated, specialized equipment that could find any flaw. Their diagnosis was wrong, and the is my complaint.

Suggested solution:

Repair the car. Based on Japanese Auto's diagnosis, only an electrical collar had shorted out but the transmission was still operational. I expected Lexus to find this problem but instead they insisted the car needed a new transmission!
