My complaint:

Kroger advertises great sales but the sale price depends on loading their ecoupons and buying a certain quantity of items. Everytime I have gone into their store the last month I have come home and gone over my receipt to find multiple over charges from what was advertised even though I jumped through their hoops of downloading coupons and buying more then I really needed to get the sale price. Last week I was charged 24.00 for cases of soda that were supposed to have been 3 for $15. and it took 20 minutes for the service rep to credit it back since no matter what she did it wouldnt ring up correct. Today I spent almost $20.00 more then my total should have been because they did not credit the sale coupons properly on all the items and they had the sale tags in front of the wrong brand pasta one of the coupons was supposed to apply to. And they way they apply your coupons and discounts when they ring up makes it impossible to know what you paid until your cash out and look at your receipt. Yes I could take all my groceries back and get a refund of the difference but it would cost me more in gas, effort, and time to do that while the sole customer service person would have to return and ring up the 15 or so items I was overcharged on. I used to love Krogers but I feel their sales are misleading and I often wonder how much money they are racking up from people unknowingly paying more then whats advertised. Is a sale really a sale when it costs you more anyway?

Suggested solution:

Discontinue the deceptive sale practices. Ensure your systems are really ringing up prices correctly. Dont combine 2-3 products to 1 coupon and then set a limit of 5 on the coupon while advertising the lower price for all the items that coupon would apply to. Make it easier and more convenient for overcharges and mistakes to be corrected. Make it easier for customer to see the actual price they will pay when the item is ringing up so they can catch overcharges before paying.
