My complaint:

I recently visited a Goodwill store in Delavan, Wisconsin, a place I frequent often for window shopping or hunting for miscellaneous household items. On this particular visit, I was on the lookout for a specific item I’ve wanted for a long time but found too expensive to buy new. In the store, near the manager’s office, a metal stand displayed various tools, including a powered drill that immediately caught my attention. After months of searching, it felt like a lucky find.

The drill was part of a set contained in a black duffle bag, which included about eight tools in total: a saw, two drills, two boxes of drill bits, a charger, and another item I couldn’t identify. Each tool was individually priced. I was interested in three items—the charger, a drill, and a drill bit set. However, I noticed the charger didn’t have a price tag. Eagerly, I took it to the register, but the cashier was uncertain how to price it without a tag and consulted the manager.

The manager, who was nearby, informed me that the entire bag was priced at $100. I pointed out the individual prices on the items, and she acknowledged that most items were individually priced, but not all. It turned out that three out of the eight items lacked price stickers. When I expressed my confusion about the pricing policy, she offered to sell me the drill and drill bits but not the charger unless I purchased the whole bag for $100. Since the charger was essential for the drill, I declined the offer and left the store, disappointed.

I understand there might be little you can do about this specific incident. However, I hope this feedback can be shared in your team meetings or via group emails. It would be beneficial for the staff, particularly those working in the back, to be more attentive in pricing items to avoid confusion. It’s also crucial for managers to facilitate better communication with customers to ensure a clear understanding for both the shoppers and the cashiers.

Suggested solution:

I would love the drill and bit set with the charger as price was labled on the items but I doubt that will happen so just something to change in there price errors
