My complaint:

I would first like to point out that I have lived in the DuPage area for almost 9 years and have been going to this store for 9 years. I have never had a bad experience up until today 123022. I was browsing the store after I had gotten out of work and nothing was particularly catching my eye until I saw a litter box that was not new but in good condition with a price of $1.99. So of course I grabbed it because I have multiple kitties and thought this would be a great find. As I go to the register to cash out I normally have my goodwill tag on my key set and realized it had come off. So as the usual when I sometimes forget it I give the cashier my telephone and they can find me. I just was there a month ago and had no issues. The cashier then said I am not in the system so I go by another telephone number. I have had the same phone number for about almost 20 years. She then asked for my name and last name and zip code and it showed up I was not in the system. She then handed me a paper and pen to write down my phone number, full name, and zip code which I did and still said I was not in the system. Then proceeded to stare at me and not even ask do you still want to purchase this, from the stare she was giving me I felt like because I was not in the system I could not purchase the item. So I politely said you know what it’s okay I don’t need to buy this, even though this very item in particular could have greatly benefitted my oldest fur baby since he is now having issues sharing the litter box with his two brothers. It was not until I was pretty much walking away when she said so you don not want to buy this. Okay obviously I would not have grabbed it and went to a cash register if I was not gonna buy it. The fact that I was not found in the system and was dealing with the cashier for almost ten minutes because my information was not being up and then stares at me and does not offer hey you could still buy this item even if we cannot find your information and just stares at me, over a two dollar “used” litter box is kind of ridiculous. I have worked in Customer service for 15 years, I know times are rough with keeping staff and getting people to work. But the fact that she did not offer to help me any other way and just stare at me, it’s like did you want my ID card or social security? Just for a litter box? They need to do better

Suggested solution:

Better training with their staff in assisting and addressing issues.
