Goodwill Industries complaint: Accusations in store

My complaint:

On Saturday 12/30/23 I was at the store with my daughter. I noticed that the employees were constantly following my daughter and are the store. This has on more then one occasion. Everytime I would move to a new spot in the store or if I would stop for just a minute the employees would walk up and ask if I needed help with anything. Even if I was using my phone to text my husband they would be like can I help you find something or do you need help finding something. If this was just a one off thing it wouldn’t bother me but this is every single time I would go in there. I’ve been through some pretty horrific things in my life so I’m very observant of my surroundings and always make sure I have a way out of somewhere. I map out all exit routes in my head but one thing that triggers my past traumas is people walking up behind me and suddenly talking to me. I have severe issues with my back being exposed. I’m sure I’m not the only person like this that shops at your stores. To have your employees constantly walking up on me or just plain and simple watching me is very very uncomfortable. That’s not even the biggest issue though I was going to use the restroom and one the employees walked up to my daughter and I and said ma’am you can’t take merchandise into the bathroom I was like what are you talking about you can’t even try anything on then I realize she was talking about MY OWN coat. Let that sink in. When I have triggers I get extremely hot and feel really sick so I took my coat off and laid it on top of my purse. Ot was snowing where I live and below 30° I had a t shirt on so I wasn’t dressed to be out in that weather. So why was her first instinct to tell me that I couldn’t take merchandise into the bathroom? I feel they had it out for me the moment I walked in there. Also is what points to that is when we walked in there was only 2 employees on the floor then when they started following me there was one dang near in every section. After this experience I will not go back and the sad thing is they couldn’t admit their mistake and apologize they told my daughter and I to leave when she said it was my coat so she did accuse me of stealing. To top it off it was the managers who started the whole thing. You guys have not only lost my business but several other family and friends as well.
To knowingly make your customers feel uncomfortable then accuse them of something is wrong. This place has always treated people bad and the employees are very very rude.

Suggested solution:

When there's an apology and the store has new management and employees so basically when there's an overhaul to the store.
