My complaint:

I purchased a Mother’s Day helium balloon on 5722 near 8pm for $4.99. It had deflated by the time I reached home. I called the store and spoke with worker, Courtney and was told to bring it back with receipt. The next day, it was totally flat, and I returned it. At the customer service desk, a female employee (It was Courtney but did not know) was handling cash drawer. I informed her of the situation and was told to bring it back the next day. I explained to her that I spoke to someone and was not told to bring it at a particular time. The other option was to find another balloon. There were only a few balloons left and they had started deflating. By this time, Courtney went into the office. I asked to speak to the manager and was directed to him. After explaining the issue, the manager asked me was it a card or cash purchase. I told him, it was a card purchase, and he took care of it.

Suggested solution:

Initially, Courtney customer service skills need to be discussed. There would have not been an issue if she asked whether the purchase was by card or cash. The manager explained if it was a cash purchase, Courtney could not do it because she had closed out the drawer. If she had asked what type of payment, the issue would have been resolved because it was a credit. This may have eliminated her negative attitude and disrespect by walking away, and my frustration.
