My complaint:

I shop at the Giant Food Store at 3131 Duke Street. 1) We are now being guided to bring our own bags by Giant’s new commendable policy of charging for plastic bags. Bravo! But with the newest configuration of self check out stations, there is no suitable place to put our own shopping bags unless they are of the small size of the plastic bags. Today I landed up having to check my items and put them in my own bag while using one of my legs to keep my bag from tumbling onto the floor. Please think this through and make it user friendly. 2) There is a manager at this store that I see from time to time. He is a tall, solidly built man, but I don’t know his name. Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, he has worn a mask with a valve. Everyone should know that these valves are completely inappropriate and ineffective in protecting others, while they maybe effective for the wearer. How could his district manager miss this point for two years now and not correct the situation? This does not inspire one to have confidence in Giant Food’s interests in the well being of its customers.

Suggested solution:

Reconfigure the self check out stands to accommodate customer bagging. The design was better before the most recent upgrades.

Get store personnel to wear non-valved masks.
