My complaint:

We moved to our new home with Solar in November of 2022. We contacted Duke Energy to let them know we are the new owners of this property and any bills going forward we are responsible for.

Five months later… yes 5 months after moving in we get our 1st bill. The bill was for over $800 dollars!!

We have never had solar panels and did not know how they work. We honestly thought all our energy was covered by solar and that was why we never received a bill.

Once we received our 1st bill of over $800 we contacted Duke Energy and we were told to fill out a form to request to use our solar. At that time they stated once we are approved to use solar we can see about credits. On April 14th we were approved. Now for credits!!

Nobody at Duke Energy understands our issue and will not issue credit for the prior months. If we had received a bill in the 1st month we could have resolved this, however we did not receive ANY billing until April!!! Please help!!!

We will not pay over $800 because of Duke Energys mistake to hook up our solar!! Please please please help us to resolve!!!

Suggested solution:

Please adjust our billing to reflect the minimum with solar power.
