My complaint:
I am 78 years old and my partner a stroke survivor is 76. Due to us living on a fixed income and surging living conditions. I had to get help for my duke energy bill. Eheap is in the process of helping pay the 2 months delinquent bill. The office was waiting for duke energy notice of disconnect so they can make a priority payment. Duke energy failed and admitted no letter was mailed so they just disconnected the power refused to even acknowledge the fact that both my partner and I depends on medical electric equipment. Which they had us registered for. Refused any empathy told me to pay 504.00 to avoid the disconnect. Told us that us being senior on a fixed income not their problem and advise us to go get a job like every other person. Power was disconnected my partner suffered a mini stroke that night. And thanks to neighborly help I was able to at the 504.00 to restart the electricity…all those advertising and being part of the community. A lie. Unbelievable especially to folks who have always paid their bills. But just can’t at this point. B
