My complaint:

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience with Doordash, a service I have been a loyal member of for approximately 5 years. Unfortunately, a recent incident has left me with no choice but to cancel my Doordash Pass subscription and switch to alternative food delivery services like Grubhub or Uber Eats.

On November 24, 2023, I placed an order for 4 sandwiches from Melt Down through the Doordash platform. To my surprise, it took an entire hour for a Doordash driver to be assigned to my order. However, the most concerning issue was the condition of the food upon its arrival. The sandwiches were delivered ice-cold, which was far from the quality of service I have come to expect from Doordash over the years.

Understandably, I immediately contacted Doordash support to address this issue. To my dismay, I was informed that the only resolution available was a refund of $60 on a $70 order. This response was not only unsatisfactory but also highly frustrating. It is unreasonable to expect customers to accept subpar service and cold food when they are paying for a premium delivery service.
To put this into perspective, if I had gone to the restaurant in person and received ice-cold food, I would not have been charged at all. This discrepancy between the service I received and the response from Doordash support is deeply concerning and disappointing.

Over the last 3 months alone, I have spent approximately $1,800 on food orders through the Doordash platform. I had hoped that my loyalty to Doordash would be met with excellent customer service and resolutions to issues like the one I encountered. However, the response to my recent complaint has left me feeling undervalued as a customer.

It is disheartening to see that, over a $70 order, Doordash was willing to let go of a loyal and long-term customer. As a result of this incident, I have taken the decision to cancel my Doordash Pass subscription and will be using alternative food delivery services in the future.

I hope that Doordash takes this feedback seriously and considers revising its refund policies and customer service practices to better accommodate loyal customers who expect a high level of service and quality. I had always enjoyed the convenience and reliability of Doordash, but recent experiences have left me with no choice but to explore other options.
