My complaint:

On March 22nd, I bought an Amazon gift card at the Dollarama located at 4269 Boulevard St-Jean, DDO. During the checkout process, the cashier encountered difficulties activating the gift card. Despite this, I was still charged for the card.

Upon receiving my receipt, I noticed a note stating Operation non Execute which raised my suspicions. I requested the cashier to double-check if the card was indeed activated. After some uncertainty, the store manager was called in. She couldn’t even if the card was activated and resorted to taking a picture of my bill, sending it to another manager for verification. After a few minutes, I was assured everything was fine and I left with the card.
However, doubts lingered, ing me to have a friend attempt to add the card to their Amazon account, only to find out it was not activated.

Returning to the store, another cashier informed me of recent issues with gift card activation and other customers also having the same issues. Upon contacting the manager, I was assured an automatic refund within 3 business days. Unfortunately, after 5 days, no refund was processed, necessitating another trip to the store.

This time, a male manager informed me that it was not the store’s responsibility to issue a refund and directed me to contact Dollarama Customer Service via email or claim.

Suggested solution:

I emailed the customer service, they asked me the photo of the bill and the gift card but 7 days , still no other response from them. Inacceptable customer service
