My complaint:
I purchased three pairs of children’s sneakers from a seller on DHGate. One pair of shoes were fine. The other two did not look like the advertised photos, the color of the shoe laces were off and there was little items on the shoes that let you know they were counterfeit and not of good quality. I requested a refund, and a return and refund from the seller. He offered me less than $10 to purchase new shoe laces for the shoes. I raised the issue with DHGate’s mediation service and DHGate ruled in my favor of returning the shoes for a refund. I returned the shoes at my own expense under the instruction of DHGate that I would be refunded for the shipping. I sent in all of the proper documentation. The seller asked if I could intercept the package when he saw how much the shipping costs. I told him no, I could not. He received notification that he had a package and there was a tariff cost on the item. This is my first time shipping something international, so I had no idea about the tariff tax or costs. The seller messaged me angrily and stated he would not be paying the tariff so he would not receive the package. Tracking shows that the package was attempted to be delivered and the seller wasn’t available to receive it. Now I am stuck with a missing package he won’t retrieve, $260 lost in shipping fees and $139 lost for the shoes that my kids could not wear.
Suggested solution:
Refund me the money for the shipping and the items destroyed due to the sellers negligence.
