My complaint:

On July 24, 2023 I initiated a pay anyone transaction of 600 to a friend of mine. A loan for 48 hours. Her car. Needed repair. I sent the money to a phone number however the number was tied to an individual that has a Chime account Vanessa. Tiffany, my friend owns this number. Less than 5 mins I called chime asking long before Tiffany will get the link on her phone to enter I her info. Chime informed me the money was sent to a chime member I immediately asked chime to cancel the ransactin. They said they could not and recommended I fund Vanessa on my chime app and send her a request to return the monies. I asked them to do it but they refused. I find Vanessa a d the request goes to Tiffany’s phone which I thought was odd. Why does the money go to vanessa but the Request to refund go to Tiffany? Tiffany was present ab I gave her permission to gf apart if this call. Chime blamed metro for recycling phone numbers. Chime said my only option was to file a claim. I provided chime with a copy of Tiffany’s latest bill showing her name and her number

Chime took no a tio. And Vanessa withdrew the minies. Chime should have cancelled paused or something instead they knew their was an issue and did nothing to prevent ote protect me. This is not the first time this has occured. Chime has yet to implement a safety guard to protect or prevent this from reoccuring this is unacceptable. I live on a fixed income. I am facing major financial hardship I have bills that are bouncing occuring more cost. Chime didn’t provide any support. This transaction should have been red flagged and Vanessa should have never had those funds available to her. Chime drug their feet making me jump through hoops and the entire time denying my claim allowing a strange to take what I work hard for How can chime say no error occured. I was on the phone with chime minutes after the transfer was made Before Vanessa withdrew the money. Chime recommended I reach out to Vanessa and request the money back
Why couldnt chime cancel the transaction after telling me the monies went to Vanessa and not the phone number. Chime was aware of this and took no action just said file a claim di these steps. I will have all the witnesses that were present submit a claim on my behalf. Tiffany was present I was
