Checkers complaint: Unacceptable service

My complaint:

I have been visiting Metlife Checkers min 6 times a month for the past 12 years and spend thousands monthly. This morning I did my shopping again. The cashier rang it up and when I presented my card I was told that the machines were offline any only FNB cards were accepted.
1. Why does the cashier not ask the question before ringing up. I am the one looking like an idiot that cannot pay for his groceries.
2. I will also place it on social media that only FNB clients are welcome. Other bank cards are not welcome when Checkers is offline. Non FNB clients should then purchase from competitors all the time.

Suggested solution:

Employ competent trained staff. I freq have to tell cashiers not to place wet and dry items in the same bag.
