My complaint:
I’m an electrical contractor. After permit was purchased, and a reconnect order was sent from city of Bellaire to centerpoint, truck 3245 left a note explaining why they had left without connecting power back again.
He argued that A) There was no permit B) trench had to be covered.
First of all, there’s a reason why he has. My phone number. He failed to call me to clear this up. Since there is a permit and he wouldn’t have been sent if the city hadn’t turned in the emergency reconnect order.
Secondly, I am not allowed to cover the ditch after proper inspection. AHJ has to ensure we made the installation according to their standards. That’s precisely the reason city sends an emergency reconnect order, because they will inspect my trench measurements and materials, then I can cover. Centerpoint is not a city inspector, they have no jurisprudence over my trench, that’s between city and me. His job was to connect the power as he was told.
Who’s gonna pay three days of hotel for my customers?
Suggested solution:
To have the phone number of the direct supervisor of the technician. He needs to be reprimanded, there's no accountability, centerpoint technicians do whatever they want and there's no phone number/person to call
