My complaint:

A General Manager at Georgetown named Gabe is very very incompetent as a manager. He guilt trips other staff members to stay extra shifts to cover for his behalf and showed plenty of favoritism with some of the staff. He would leave in the middle of a rush with a very untrustworthy excuse and never corrected some of the managers working. I worked here ( not saying my title) but I felt as I wasn’t treated very fairly by some of the other team members that would take over my shift and including him. I was forced to do more work than needed just to compensate for the lack of work ethic the other specific manager wasn’t doing. There were 2 members that he was covering with their faulty work that didn’t receive any consequences (members that he favored). One of them was a manager who clocked out the second her time was over she had left without getting any preparation ready for the next shift lead and team members causing the night shift members to struggle during service hours as they couldn’t serve some of the items from the menu. One cook stormed out and left because the previous grill cook didn’t set up the station right and left because of it rather than trying to just fix the problem. I didn’t receive proper training my first week and was practically dropped into a dinner rush on my first day. The manager that Gabe assigned me with was also a new worker so I didn’t learn anything from what I was shown because the manager didn’t teach me proper food rotation, storing, communication and etc. I was forced to learn everything on my own. The other day Gabe was 40 minutes late to an opening shift which other staff had to compensate for his tardiness and instead of him trying to help out other staff members the moment we arrived there, He turned on his music from his speakers and started dancing and singing while messing around when we had to open in an hour and a half. He also left abruptly without an excuse in the middle of an afternoon shift when the store’s power had been going out quite frequently and appliances weren’t working properly to get a haircut and when the power had gone out an 30 minutes after he had left he told the managers and the rest of the staff to close the store early at 4pm.. we found out the next day that he went out to go get a haircut in the middle of service hours. Yesterday he had announced to staff that he wouldn’t be allowing staff members to leave unless the agenda he was to give out wasn’t completed no matter the excuse or even if they aren’t on the clock. He tried doing this to me today as the first one to receive the treatment and I wasn’t gonna put up with him any longer. Long story short working with Gabe felt like I was being taken advantage of, Treated poorly, Unfair treatment, Guilt tripped, Plenty of drama surrounding him. He is a very lazy General Manager who makes the work harder for his staff because he doesn’t communicate with other managers to inform of who is able to cover a shift and would often ignore calls or texts for help in his own store by other members causing the rest of the members to struggle.

Suggested solution:

Replace Gabe with a more responsible General Manager and change the management around the place. other staff members are very fun to work with but the management in the restaurant makes it difficult to work.
