My complaint:

I ordered a car from carvana on April 4th. I agreed to a delivery of April 14th although carvana said i can receive the car by the 12th. On the 13th carvana contacted me and canceled my delivery till April 30th an extra 2 wks. They then said i can receive it the following week instead on the 23rd. They emailed me on the 22nd canceling that delivery as well. After 1 more time of canceling my delivery date i canceled my order. Carvana informed me that they would send the check back to my 3rd party credit union in 3-5 business days. It’s now 1 month later and my credit union has not received the check yet.

Meanwhile my credit union is pulling the funds from my account because they issued the check on April 4th. Every time I call carvana the customer service reps are very pleasant but they have no control over the funds. The funds are handled by the treasury department who have no direct contact besides email. This transaction was also supposed to be a trade so i purchased insurance on this vehicle and I can’t get my down payment back. I also had the insurance company cancel the insurance on the vehicle that was supposed to be traded on the date i would’ve received the new vehicle (April 14th). I was unaware that my policy was canceled although I never received the new vehicle. Now i also owe dmw for the amount of days i was uninsured. That’s from April 14th till the day i canceled the order April 29th. Because of that i can’t drive my current vehicle because of the lapse in insurance coverage. Leading me to have to rent a car. This whole process has been a nightmare.

Suggested solution:

Send the check for $36,000 back to my credit union and reimburse me for my expenses for the constant canceling of delivery.
