My complaint:
On March 1, 2022 I applied for and received a Menards Big Card. I used it charging a little over $100 since I was promised $10 if I charged over $100. I paid the bill almost immediately but never received the $10 as promised. What I got instead was a credit card that was declined the next time I TRIED using it. I called Capital One and was told they suspected fraud. Ok, how do you suspect fraud when the bill is paid as quickly as was mine? IF I wanted to defraud either Menards or Capital One I wouldn’t have paid the bill and would have had someone try to find me. They wanted a mountain of paperwork, including a copy of the front and back of my driver license, which was sent to Salt Lake City, Utah. After waiting I called to find out what the holdup was? I was told they were unable to scan my driver license and to send ANOTHER copy, which I did. Then, I get a letter dated June 2, 2022 saying they wanted MORE info. I called AGAIN and ended up with a man named Stacy, who did his best to try to help. Of course, no one was in the fraud dept and had all left for the day. Stacy told me EVERYTHING they needed was there, except they wanted a copy of the back of my license. I said it was already there at the bottom of the paper I scanned it to. He looked and agreed it was there. Both of us agreed if someone couldn’t see it they had better make an appointment with a eye doctor. He said they would call me back soon, and I’m STILL waiting ☹
Suggested solution:
Get their heads out of their dead rears, look closely at the paper I sent to see EVERYTHING is there, approve the card, give me the call I was promised, and at least $10 that was initially promised. In actuality I feel I'm owed more than $10 from Capital One due to the absolutely unnecessary foot dragging they've done with me so far!! It's ludicrous Capital One would drag their feet on this the way they have. It's already been 4 months, FOUR MONTHS and I'm still no further ahead! I can't get any answers from Capital One as to why.
