Capital One complaint: CLOSING OF BANK ACCOUNT

My complaint:

Capital One closed our bank account in October 2022 because they said that they had sent a letter advising that we had to sign up for electronic statements.  We never received the letter.  You really messed up our direct deposits and drafts which has taken us days to get worked out. The people drafting were immediately notified but still kept sending drafts to you which were returned and we were charged return check fees.  Shame on you!!  We had over $8000 balance at time of closure.  I  immediately went to bank and asked about the letter.  A very rude employee said that account no longer existed and everything would be returned marked no account. She also stated that we would have to open a new account and start all over.  Of course all the drafts were returned and we were charged late fees even thou we notified the companies of a new bank account.  We have had an account for over 40 years, first with Calcasieu Marine Bank, then Hiberia and then Capital One. Needless to say , we will never do business with you again and if anyone inquires as to why, we will state what happen.  It appears that you are more interested in Credit Card business than banking business.Our questions are why are we getting the e-mails ?  Take our name off your e-mail list.
