My complaint:
I am a longtime user of booking.com.
Apparently, my account was hacked. During the past week, I have gotten reservation ations for bookings I did not make, destinations that I have never visited, and under names that I do not recognize.
I cancelled the reservations and messaged booking.com and no one replied. I called customer service (they only have one number staffed overseas by young women who are not authorized to do anything) and asked to speak to a customer service supervisor about my security concerns. I was repeatedly refused.
This seems to be a widespread pattern of fraud for which booking.com claims no reponsibility—because they still profit.
I do not want to cancel the account because I have legitimate reservations for business travel that I need to undertake—and I would not be able to get those reservations again.
I have spent hours trying to resolve an error that they made and they are completely unresponsive.
Suggested solution:
Call me. Write to me. Reassure me that this will not continue. Otherwise I take this to small claims court to be compensated for my time spent.
