Best Buy complaint: No Return No Way

My complaint:

I am completely disappointed with a company that I have always held in such high regard above all other retail stores. I tried to return an item last night. I was told I couldn’t. So I left the store and called the Best Buy customer care line….. Everything about Best Buy is quite literally terrible. I had to call into customer care 4 times, first time I was being transferred and the car was dropped. I did not receive a call back. The second call was even more horrendous as Natasha the “customer care representative” advised me that she was not able to transfer calls. Third call I spoke with a representative for over 30 minutes before I was able to actually get a supervisor on the phone…… Anna, the “supervisor” on duty- this woman advised me that she found my receipt and said to go on and head back to the store because they would be able to exchange the item with no problems. I verified and ed this information with her prior to returning to the store. I get back to the store. The cashier is unable to find the receipt! I then attempt to call the customer care phone number one more time, while I was quickly going through the telephone to be able to speak with a customer care representative I was approached by what appeared to be the manager on duty at this specific store, amidst all of this frustration and chaos, I am told from the manager that I needed to come back tomorrow because they were closed. This was at 9:14pm so 14 minutes after they had closed I was being told that I needed to come back the following day. Clearly this specific store needs to provide customer service training to its employees, including the a management staff! Incompetence to the highest degree and the worst part is that it was not just the retail store it was also every customer care agent that I spoke with at the call center! Best Buy clearly needs to implement some customer service training for these individuals and teach them how to actually do their job…… Get it together Best Buy- This would never be an issue if I had purchased my item through Amazon because they actually care about their customers

Suggested solution:

Return the modem and give me a store merchandise card
