My complaint:

Paperless billing seemed convenient. However it is a method to overcharge customers. Every month a customer will receive a utility balance due by email. Pay the full amount PROMPTLY online and receive an email ation. However that is not your true balance. AEP maintains a unreported balance account that is added to your bill maybe once a year. Why? Aep charges late fees and misc. charges every month on customers who pay on-time online. I paid every month the full balance for eleven months only to be told I had an outstanding balance all those month that was unpaid. How is that possible? It was never shown in my online account. AEP wins with extra charges. A very unscrupulous utility company. DO NOT USE PAPERLESS BILLING.

Suggested solution:

I will not use paperless billing. In fact, I terminated the activity with AEP and the representative asked: WHY WAS I CANCELING? I reported that the billing was false. That each month had a stated balance (visible online) but it was not the total balance (???). The representative refused to write down my reason but instead wrote: customer was confused online . AEP employees are trained to be liars directly to customers.
