My complaint:
I received a special offer email for black friday. I went to the store and selectedd over $200.00 in seasonal merchandise for which I was to receive 80,000 points. When I got to the ckeckout the cashier was adamant that the offer excluded seasonal items. I explained my email offer and the sign at then front of the store definitely said general merchandise including seasonal. She said she needed to see the sign.
Here I was (a 79 year old lady) trying to get the sign out of the cover with no luck. By now I had created an audience not to mention a lineup! In tears I asked to speak to the manager. The assistant manager came shortly, got the sign and another cashier to open. The system would only give me 40,000 points. I then had to go to the service department to get the restnof my points.
To say I was totally embarrased is an understatement. The assistant manager did stay with me whole the process. Why offer these specials then make it nearly impossible to use them. I am sure a little grey haired lady in tears got quite an audience. I will think twice before trying to take advantage of special offers.
Suggested solution:
The cashier should have contacted the manager to verify the offer - not expected me to run all over the store to get a sign. She was adamant she was right! What happened to courtesyn to the customer?
