My complaint:
I want to express my disappointment with the VOA, I feel there is no real concern for the veterans, it seems like they have their one size fits all approach and stick to a preplanned system no matter what the veterans needs are.
I feel their are options out there they are not telling us about or know about because that would require spending more time working and less time sitting around doing personal things for themselves. I feel their program is designed to do the most minimum amount of effort they can to get results that satisfy the VA.
Most of the veterans including me are idiots anyway and many of the vets who use this service are just looking for a place to stay for a while and don’t really care about the service they receive from the VOA, they just go with the flow and settle for whatever, they’re just taking advantage of the free handouts and I feel the VOA is taking advantage of money they get for each veteran by providing the minimum amount of help and I don’t blame the staff, they are just doing what the VOA tells them in that case, but the lack of giving a shit about a vet the VA is paying to house us who has any issues with their way of doing things is bullshit.
They are more concerned about me signing that daily attendance book then they are about me. They don’t care about me rather staying in my car then be in that room with someone I can’t stand on so many levels, they did a good job addressing the the stench coming from him, but one day it’s gone and the next day it’s back and I can’t blame the VOA for that, but
for them to turn it on me and say they think I’m the one responsible for the smell or to tell me I have to deal with it is unacceptable. I’m not putting up with anyone invalidating me anymore, it’s classic blaming the victim that lazy irresponsible people do when they don’t want to deal with some that requires extra work.
They gave me a key to a different room but took it back because I felt he is the one who should move, I’m not the one who stunk up the room or created the tension, he was, but their don’t give a crap attitude and the incredibly horrible way they handled this goes beyond anything acceptable and they don’t deserve a penny from the VA for any service the VA paid them for me.
They would rather let me sleep in my car then deal with this situation, all they care about is signing that book. The suggestions they made we’re take it or leave it and so insulting that I choose to leave it. So I went back to staying in my car and they don’t give a crap just as long as I sign that book.
Many veterans just go with the flow and don’t care about the service or have any real long term goals and are not bothered how by how many different people you have to go through to get something accomplished who are in different places, if I need help with this, that’s another person in a different department in a different location who never answers their phone and if I need help with that, same thing.
It feels like a runaround that is designed for the convenience of the VOA and how they can get the most money be doing the least amount of work for the veterans.
I found a few places that I liked and wanted help with from the SSVF people, but the 1st person I spoke with left the company and said nothing, the 2nd person I spoke with only does intakes and knows nothing about the program and I had an appointment with someone tomorrow, but the bullshit way these people force us to share a room with someone we can’t stand because of their power trip has brought an end as of today to receiving any help, not that they were ever any help, things were good until they forced that smelly piece of shit into the room and force us to be roommates, fuck them, let’s see how they would like it if they were forced to do the same, non of you hypocrites would tolerate it if done to you and to answer the statement made you just have to live with it, no I don’t, no one should be forced to be miserable and treated the way the VOA is treating this, all they have done is caused more stress, anxiety, depression, and endangered my life by saying we would rather you leave or stay in your car, because refuse to do it our way and our way only.
They seriously don’t give a crap about us, the way they handled my problem was bullshit on every level and they still would rather have a veteran stay in his car then make any real suggestions to deal with this because it’s their way or no way.
Suggested solution:
By dropping their attitude and taking the vets complaint serious and not blow it off or invalidate it
