Varo Bank complaint: Holds, failed to respond, freeze account

My complaint:

I asked Varo to temporarily lock my account. I could not find my phone and wallet. I really thought my ex wife got into my belongings and was trying to take over my account. I had the card locked on 3/5/2024. I then found my phone/card. I explained to Varo no charges or unauthorized activity occurred and asked to unlock my account. Instead of unlocking they suspended it for 4 days. It is now 3/20/2024 and no progress. My payroll is currently going into that account along with my tax refund. I have zero access to my funds. I could not pay my rent for March. Already received a 3 day notice to vacate my rental. I’ve talked to customer service, supervisors and emailed the fraud department. Nobody will help me. They say they will escalate it and it will be resolved in one business day. Here we are, this bank is doing something shady. I can lock my account to prevent fraud just not unlock it. I cannot review any new or current activity if any because the account is suspended. They leave me no choice but to pursue legal action. I’m coming for my money and I want them to pay me for the run around, keeping my money from me, shady business practices, embarrassment from having a notice put on my door (eviction), I work hard for my money. I also would like to start an online petition to get this company shut down. Read the complaints. I wish I would of before signing up.

Suggested solution:

My account should not be suspended and I should have access to my funds. I want compensation for all of this chaos. Very bad business practices and I’m willing to take this as far as it goes.Real banks do not conduct business like this.
