My complaint:

On 16th April I was a victim of fraud and my credit card was charged for two transactions of £100 each (£200 total). Luckily American Express warned me swiftly and refunded me. I have uploaded a screenshot of the transactions on my statement proving it was fraudulent activity. Unfortunately, since this issue, I have been unable to use my Uber account becuase it says that I have unfinished payments on my account. When I click into this message on the UberEats app, all I see are two unfinished payments for £100 each and I’m asked to pay them before continuing. Despite several attempts to resolve this with the UberEats help centre and 3 phone calls, no one has been able to resolve my issue. I am told that my credit card provider initiated a charge back which is not a refund. I have spoken to American Express and they say their liability finishes when they refund me the money. They say that Uber shouldn’t be charging me as it’s ed as fraudulent activity. I am writing this email out of desparation. I am incredibly frustrated and exhausted with the experience. I am left with no other option that to complain.

Suggested solution:

The two charges for £100 (£200 total) that were not me and were fraudulent should be removed from my account.

I'd also like compensation as this has been a terrible experience - but just want those payments removed as a priority!
