My complaint:

I am an employee at slim chickens and I was not thrilled with the manager on my shift. On Tuesday April 9th I was working a 4-9 cashier shift. It is demanded by law that if an employee works a 5 hour shift they have to get a 30 minute break during their shift. Around 6:30-7 I asked the manager (Gabriella) If I could take my 30 minute sense it was pretty dead in the store. She had denied me and sent one of my co-workers on their break first. Although I wasn’t thrilled I didn’t say anything of it. When my co-worker got back from their break I asked if I could go then because we have gotten almost no body inside the store. She looked me square in the eye and said no then proceeded to wave me away. I was not happy after this happened. This proceeded to continue to happen until every one in the store got a break before me. I was never given a break during my 5 hour shift. So when 8:30 came around I asked if I could go home early sense I didn’t get a break. To my surprise she said no and made me take the trash out, and take down the lemonades. She then made me stay after past 9 to clean around the store. I am very unsatisfied with this manager. Everyone got a break inside the store except for me. I asked 3-5 times if I could have my break and she said no each time with no reasoning behind it. She had me stay after when my shift would have ended and do more work around the store. I really hope whoever is reading this takes this into account because I know if they don’t me and my family are ready to take action. And if it comes down to it we will take legal action because this was against the law. I hope this is taken into account.
