Sezzle complaint: Dispute refused/merchant never shipped item

My complaint:

I bought a jacket through sezzle in February 2023, final payment of thar item was April 27 2023. The item was return to merchant as it was the wrong colour and size. The merchant said they would make me a jacket to my size, as additional 132 was paid and was told it would take 8-10 weeks ( this was a March 12) mid May i checked in with the merchant and I was told there was a delay to crack back in two weeks … I checked in June was told the same thing and this basically went on until end of august – I send notice to the merchant to refund my money – September 7th they said they would and to expect it in 5-10 days – at the same time I informed sezzle if the situation. The refund never came and 25 days no refund and the merchant is not responding to me at all. Sezzle is saying they cannot help
Me as it’s been 180 days since the purchase … the item wasn’t fully paid until April 27th which is within the 180 days but it’s the first payment they go with which was February so it’s 195 bs 180 – 15 day difference- their user agreement seems to state in a few spots that they can change it at their discretion so I’m not understanding why this 180 days is a hard fast rule. The merchant agreement doesn’t have these parameters so it’s not about the merchant. I paid and never got the jacket and I have emails and emails of the merchants excuses and their agreement that due to delays they would refund me. I can dispute the charges with my bank, but they were made to sezzle and if they are reversed they will no doubt send me to collections even though I never got the item. It’s a rock and hard place.

Suggested solution:

Refund my money through their dispute process which allows them to get the money from the merchant directly
